Family Tree Maker 2024 allows you to send your family tree to loved ones by use of the Connect Workspace. The free TreeVault cloud services and free Family Tree Maker Connect application enable you to easily invite family members to your tree to view and add to it and be connected to your tree anywhere. The Connect Workspace is easy to use and there are four major tabs that will aid you to share your tree easily and easily.
Key Tabs in Connect Workspace
1. Select Guests Tab:- In this section, you can create and manage your guest list.
- Enter email addresses manually.
- Add address book entries to your computer.
- Find the relatives who have been already incorporated into your family tree.
Once you add all the contacts, you will see them in the Guests tab. Based on that, you can choose when invitations will be sent.
2. Match to Tree Tab:- This tab shows:
- People who have been invited:
- Those who have not up to now received the invitation:
- Guest review of your meeting notes or feedback posted by your guests using a sticky note:
3. Send Invitations Tab:- It is all possible here, as you can write, preview and send personalized invitations to your guests.
4. Get Hints Tab:- Any notes that you or your guests add via the Connect mobile app will appear in this tab. You may make them remain such as they are or you may make them everlasting facts in your tree.
How to Set Up Your Guest List in Connect Workspace?
Before sending invitations, you need to compile your guest list using one of these three methods:
- Import Contacts from Your Computer:- Go to the Prospects tab. At that point, select the option of “Contacts on Your Computer. Then choose the group you would like to import. To select several contacts at the same time, press Command key and select them.
- Manually Enter Email Addresses:- Click on the Prospects tab. Type In Select and fill in the name of the guest and the email address. Click on the Guest List button to save.
- Adding Existing Members from Your Tree:- Click on the Prospects tab and choose Your FTM Tree Index. Depending on whether you want close or extended family members, move the Family Circle slider to include them in your choices. Once you have identified the right family member, you can add as a guest by clicking on the Add to Guest List button.
Linking Guests to Their Family Tree Profiles
Once you match a guest to his corresponding profile in your family tree you can send a personal invitation that reminds him of your relationship. This would be a step towards making the invitation appear more significant and important to the guest.
- Click on the Guests tab and choose the guest.
- Family Tree Maker will propose similar profiles.
- As you can see, Click Match to confirm the suggestion or Change Person to manually pick up the right profile.
- Select Find option when no suggestions are shown.
Sending Personalized Invitations
You can add some personal information or photos to your tree and make your invitation special.
- Open up the Connect workspace and select the Invitations tab.
- Choose the guest to whom you would want to invite.
- Insert a message or an image to make the invitation personal.
- The invitation is previewed on the right side of the screen.
- Send Invitation to send it.
