First-time users of FTM 2024 for Windows’ new Contacts workspace will be requested to grant themselves access to their Contacts. Only you can connect emails from your address book to persons in your tree to invite them to examine it.
Your Privacy is Protected
Your contacts are safe and secret. Granting yourself access does not share your address book with Family Tree Maker or other users. This private tool lets you easily connect emails to tree members. Your contacts are private for your own organization and inviting family members to collaborate.
Manually Granting Access
You can manually allow access if you missed the request, misclicked, or declined.
Step 1: Open Windows Settings
Select Settings (the gear icon) from Start.
Step 2: Open Privacy Settings
In Settings’ left sidebar, click Privacy and security.
Step 3: Pick contacts
Scroll down and hit Contacts under App permissions.
Step 4: Allow Family Tree Maker
To grant contact access, select Family Tree Maker 2024 from the app list and turn it on.
Final Thoughts
Granting contact access in FTM 2024 for Windows enhances family tree sharing securely and privately. You manage your contact information and can cancel access at any moment using Windows privacy settings. This function makes family communication and genealogical sharing easier.
